Max Fisher’s “The Chaos Machine” also discusses the underlying ideologies that continue to make Silicon Valley male and white/Asian. He then connects the ideologies of male misanthropic geek types to the fundamental flaws of the algorithm based internet. He can draw a line between their biases and the biases of the algorithm. Highly recommend. Great book.
Great Q&A. I do feel 89% smarter this morning after reading it. The politicization of technology is a fascinating topic worth further exploration. Because what are they really after? What’s the endgame of power? Or tech power? And if this amassing of political power coincides with the authoritarian fantasy of ongoing geopolitical destabilization of democratic norms, then to what end?
