grosser seems really really smart but he makes a completely false equivalency between tiktok and facebook/instagram. for all their many faults, neither of meta’s platforms have algorithms controlled by the us government. the ccp, meanwhile, literally has their thumb on the scale of tiktok’s algorithm and exerts at least some amount of influence.
