Thank you for putting the effort into writing this article. As an educator of high school students, I see too many students and adults accepting stories like the one you mention from Senator Britt as the truth about the topic. No further research is done about it and they are comfortable repeating the tale.
The same thing occurs with the January 6th. uprising/riot being called an insurrection. If it was an insurrection, it was the most poorly planned and executed insurrection in the history of the world. Why were no 'insurrectionists' actually charged with insurrection? I'm sure we can come up with many more examples of other situations, too.
Pizzagate sounded bizarre when I first heard it on some YouTube video years ago and a little digging on the internet revealed how dubious it was. The problem is getting people to do the digging on their own.

Wired/WaPo/Der Spiegel recently did a joint investigation into 764 and other online predator rings who target at-risk teen girls, a thing which actually *is* happening but does not get this kind of engagement from the moms (as far as I know). I’ve been wondering about that in connection with what you’re writing about.
